Find your Google listing

Step 2 of setting up Kudos. Two minutes, and one of those should be spent checking you picked the right one.

Nothing is sent to any of your clients until you finish step 6.

What this step decides

This is the listing your clients land on when they choose to leave a review. Kudos sends them to Google's own review form for this listing and nothing else.

Read this before you press the button: once a listing is saved, it cannot be cleared from the setup page. This is deliberate, because the alternative is a practice quietly pointing its review requests at a different business halfway through a year. If you pick the wrong one, email support and we will fix it, but you cannot undo it yourself.

The steps

  1. Type your practice name including your suburb. For example Smith & Co Accountants, Parramatta rather than Smith & Co.
  2. Press Search. You will get up to five results, each with a name and an address.
  3. Read the address, not just the name. That is what the address is there for.
  4. Select yours and press Use this listing.

Picking the right one

You have more than one office

Each office usually has its own Google listing, and they will look almost identical in the results. The address is the only thing that tells them apart.

Kudos sends every review request to one listing, for the whole practice. So pick the office you want reviews to accumulate against, which for most practices is the main one. If you genuinely need different offices pointing at different listings, email support before you go live; that needs a separate account per office today.

Your name appears twice at the same address

That usually means a duplicate listing, which is worth cleaning up in Google Business Profile regardless. Pick the one you actually manage, which is the one that shows your real opening hours and photos when you search for it on Google yourself. Then ask Google to merge the other.

Nothing comes back

Search the same words on Google Maps first. If the listing does not appear there either, you do not have one yet, and reviews have nowhere to land.

Creating one is free and takes about ten minutes at business.google.com, but Google usually requires verification by post or phone before the listing goes live, which can take days. Do that first, then come back to this step. Kudos cannot do it for you and cannot work without it.

You are not sure which is yours

Search your practice on Google Maps in another tab. The listing you can edit, the one that offers you an owner dashboard rather than a "suggest an edit" link, is yours.
